THANKSGIVING

 Greetings families,

At school we've been working on Thanksgiving. It's celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November, so this year it was celebrated on the 23rd of November. On Thanksgiving, people eat lots of turkey.

The tradition started in 1621, in Plymouth, Massachusets and we´re going to tell you its history.

It started thanks to the pilgrins that sailed to America from England.

The festival originated as a harvest celebration giving thanks to a succesfull harvest. Pilgrims from Europe had sailed to America in 1620 to start a new colony in Plymoth, Massachusets in an area called New England. Their first succesfull harvest was in 1621. Their celebrations lasted for three days and hosted a great feast.

En el colegio estamos trabajando el día de acción de gracias. 

Se celebra el cuarto jueves de Noviembre, es decir este 23 de Noviembre se celebra dando gracias y comiendo pavo. 

La tradición comenzó en 1621 en Plymouth , Massachussets y os vamos a contar un poco de su historia. 

Comenzó gracias a los peregrinos de Europa que navegaron desde Inglaterra, los peregrinos vinieron para empezar una nueva colonia. 

El festival se originó como una celebración de cosecha, dando gracias. Las celebraciones duran 3 días y tenía un festín donde se comía pavo y un pastel de zanahoria. 

En el cole lo hemos celebrado dando gracias y haciendo unos pavos muy chulos donde somos agradecidos.
